[Dirvish] expiring and sporadic backups?

I manually delete directories all the time when I underestimate the disk
requirements.  Backup disk fills up (or close to if I'm paying enough
attention), I delete some of the older backups and fine tune the
expiration rules, it runs for longer before it fills up again, iterate.
 Works for me, though I'll admit a bit more planning up front *might*
reduce the overall effort.  In any case, dirvish keeps right on chugging
away.
