My experience is that the rsync_errors file is not created when rsync
has reported "file vanished". The backup seems complete (except for
the vanished files), but the log file is not compressed and the index
is not generated. The images are also not considere as
"--link-dest". This might be because of a missing entry in
default.hist. 

So the backup fail if rsync reports "file vanished". Any way the make
dirvish accept rsync's returncode of "file vanshed" as if it was a
successfull backup.
